I'm falling so fast Slipping into darkness "I'll save you!" you cry "As soon as I save myself!" I cling to you as you push me away Leaving me to be swallowed in fear. The screams ring in my ears The voices of thousands of silent women We cry behind closed doors Scream when no one will hear, And die alone and lonely. Your hand brushes mine, Teasing me with security. You know how to save both of us, But you choose not to take me. So all the things you never did And all the things you never said Will haunt my soul 'til I die. My neck will bleed From the mirror that is broken Because I never felt beautiful When you looked at me.
