That Night

by Charles Mathew Tyner III - Scorpio

That night we took our walk and the moon caressed your skin;
I wished that I could stop time because I didn't want the night to end.
The stars danced around you like a crown upon your head;
I knew that there was something special about the girl I've just met.
Miracles fell from Heaven and landed upon the Earth;
The one that means most was when your essence experienced birth.
For if you were never here, I'd still be as I was;
Drinking, smoking and partying just because.
When you asked me what I was thinking, I told you a little lie;
It was more that I didn't tell you all that I was thinking on that night.
I did my best to hold back because I almost started to cry;
All becuase of the things I saw when I looked into your eyes.
I saw everything that I ever wanted in the world.
I saw everything that I ever dreamed of in the soul of one girl.
As we continued to learn about eachother, it became all too clear;
That you are the one that I want to hold near.
I know you don't want to hear this, but it's something I have to say;
Maybe it will workout someday is what I hope and what I pray.
As for right now, this is what I'll do for you.
Everything I said will be forgotten in 5, 4, 3, 2...

Reason for writing:

    Soulmates are hard to find, but sometimes, if you just wait, they'll come to you.
