I was blinded by your light And mistook it for a flame. The closer I tried to get The further you pulled away. Trying to hide the secret Of your barely burning embers. I offered a piece of myself To feed your dying fire. You accepted it without question And used it to grow stronger. Now your flame burns warm and bright So you don't need me anymore. You're moving on without me Forgetting the love I gave you. Pretending not to remember It was me who helped you grow. How far will you get Before your flame grows weak again? If you turn your back to me Don't ask for help again. I only give my love away once And there are no second chances.
