The Bell

by Hermes - Taurus

The chances of redemption
Sinking lower every second
The fires licking closer
Any second he will beckon

The nervous feeling escalates
He seems to smell my fear
My mind now gets to screaming
But I know no one can hear

My brain goes blank I cannot feel
His eyes connect with mine
My heart drops to my stomach
And my ears now fill with noise

As quickly as it tumbled down
My heart begins to rise
The teacher sighs and looks away
I’m saved from my demise!

The bell that first had filled my ears
Now sounds like some sweet music
Amazing how so harsh a sound
Can nearly seem artistic

I grab my things and leave the class
As a weight lifts off my chest
I head through the hall but soon recall
I’m headed for a test.

Reason for writing:

remembering those days in spanish class...
