I want the sun to come out in my world...
with only skies of blue.
I want the door to the future to open..
with no more thoughts of you.
I want the rain to wash my tears away...
the sunshine to warm life’s breeze
I want a new life... A bran new life
with no old memories.
I don't want to see the ending..
don't want to know how I got here
I don't need to carry the burdens
of all those wasted years
I don’t want the memories of our hard times...
or even the good ones they’re there to find.
I don't want the memories of the plans we had..
the memories of the good... or of the bad.
Chorus: I want a new life... a bran new life..
with no old memories.
A fresh start... with a free heart
and no tie-downs just fancy free.
I want to look ahead to the new instead..
of this old use to be.
I want a new life... a bran new life..
with no old memories.
I want the door to temptation to open
just in case I want to walk through
I want the mirrors in my mind to stop reflecting
all the hell I might go through
I don't want to watch where I’m stepping
or look back to where I’ve been
I want a new life and forget the fact..
that there ever was a way back then
I don't want a memory to remind me...
that I should be feeling the pain.
That, how can I do this to someone that loves me..
I must be cold or insane...
I don't want a memory to show me...
how it hurts to walk away...
and that same old memory that knows me..
and says it hurts more to stay
Chorus: I want a new life...a bran new life..
with no old memories...
a fresh start...with a free heart
and no tie-downs just fancy free..
I want to look ahead to the new instead..
of this old use to be..
I want a new life...a bran new life..
with no old memories.
