There's this little church down by the beach,
In a small southern town where I do preach.
About the grace that He gave to us.
And about His beauty, His purity, and of His trust.
And every Sunday all the town folk would come,
To hear my sermon and leave when I was done.
And I'd make my way back home again,
To write the sermon I'll preach to my friends.
One Saturday night my little boy...
... he wouldn't leave me alone.
I was under great pressure...
... I knew I had to get my sermon done.
Then I noticed a picture of the world on a magazine.
I tore it into a hundred pieces and I gave it to him.
"Son, you put this world together...
... and bring it back to me,
And I'll treat you to the biggest ice cream...
... you ever did see."
Thinking time was on my hands as my son left the room,
I went back to writing the sermon that I'd preach soon.
But much to my suprise in just two minutes flat,
In came my boy and asked where his ice cream was at!
And in his hands I did see the world complete,
Not a piece was missing and all looked so neat.
"How'd ya do it so quickly?" I asked and I pleaded.
"Flipping the world over, dad, was all that was needed.
Cause on the other side was this picture of this man,
And it was so, so easy, to put him together again.
Well, I wrote my sermon in just two hours that night,
About if man was together, the world would be right.
And on that Sunday in my little church down by the beach,
The sermon about my son and his ice cream I did preach.
