Water Road

by Dark Angel - Pisces

Walking the same path I traveled as a child, I made my way to the water hole
Tears silently streamed down my cheeks, as I made it to the destination of my stroll
Collecting the water in my container, I watched my reflection ripple along the shore
Another day in the life of a servant, I thought as my mind wondered off to explore
Riding the waves on a beautiful sail boat, I watched the birds as they flew free
Leading me back from my dream world, I stood and wiped the sand from my knee
Departing from the waters edge, I made my way back to the trail
To return to the guarded palace gate, and fulfill the rest of my days detail
Right in the middle of the dusty path, I saw her slowly approaching me
A face unknown to my eyes, drawing closer her features were of pure beauty
Asking me to halt my departure, I turned to look at her eyes
Spying the princess crown upon her head, I dropped to offer apprise
She grabbed my arm and pulled me up, telling me there was no need
Seeing my discomfort she outstretched her hand, offering her trust to not mislead
Looking deep into her eyes once more, she quietly began to speak
Telling me of promise lands where mountains had snow covered peaks
Hearing of my wish to be released, she faintly smiled and took my bowl
Pouring the contents from the container, to the water hole she continued to stroll
Feeling the anticipation run through my veins, my foot stepped off the well known path
Freeing me from a servants life and the monotonous chill of life's wrath.
