I gotta treasure trove of memories…
… that I keep inside my chest.
Most are good… I’d relive them if I could…
… they lie in the bed where my soul rests.
And even though those old memories…
… are there for all to see.
No one can retrieve them…
… ‘cause they’re all under lock and key!
Many names have been given…
… to identify this bodily part.
Cheatin’ has been added…
… and even hard.
Strong, big and bad… happy and even glad,
But none of those names applies to me…
… ‘cause I live with a broken heart!
I gotta treasure trove of memories…
… that I keep inside my chest.
Most are good… I’d relive them if I could…
… they lie in the bed where my soul rests.
And even though those old memories…
… are there for all to see.
No one can retrieve them…
… ‘cause they’re all under lock and key!
What I really need in life…
… is a good locksmith.
And someone who does mason work…
… and maybe even a carpenter.
‘Cause if I could employ them…
… my broken heart could be fixed.
What I really need in life…
… is a good locksmith!
I gotta treasure trove of memories…
… that I keep inside my chest.
Most are good… I’d relive them if I could…
… they lie in the bed where my soul rests.
And even though those old memories…
… are there for all to see.
No one can retrieve them…
… ‘cause they’re all under lock and key!
Then one day it did come to me…
… this light from up above.
Seems like I was bathed in glory…
… and just brimming with this love.
Didn’t need that locksmith after all…
… or that mason, you see.
I settled for that Carpenter…
… this Man from Galilee!
I gotta treasure trove of memories…
… that I keep inside my chest.
Most are good… I’m reliving them as I should…
… they lie in the bed where my soul rests.
And now those old memories…
… are there for all to see.
And I thank God for that Carpenter…
… ‘cause He provided me with the key!
I gotta treasure trove of memories…
… that I keep inside my chest.
Most are good… I’m reliving them as I should…
… they lie in the bed where my soul rests.
And now those old memories…
… are there for all to see.
And I thank God for that Carpenter…
… this Man from Galilee!
And I thank God for that Carpenter…
Jesus, thank You…
… for providing me with the key!
