Forever

by Kevin A. Friduss - Scorpio

Forever

Children played in the streets

The birds chirped in the trees

The wind blew a warm wind, the smell of flowers beginning to bud

A cold wind that would never stop

The skies darkened over the world

Blackness was laying over us

This is a day that we will remember

The weather turned from warm breeze to a cold chill

The earth started to give way

The child cried

People wept on their front porch

The earth opened on this day

This day of nothing

Today was our judgment day

A time to reflect on our past and fight for our future

We have not given up

We are united together to form one bond

A bond of strength for our species

An old man died today

The candles burned out passionately

There was no light

Just blackness

A sky full of terror among our species

Screams and Dreams were shattered on this day

The air smelled like a fire was burning all of us

Fire shot up through the cracks of hell

And then there was a noise

A noise that we all had to start a new day

A day of love and a day to celebrate life

Today we bind together

Life will go on

Forever

Reason for writing:

I sat at my desk looking for something that I could write about that would make me feel good after it was finished. I had never written anything like this so that feels really good.
