A Poet's Counsel

by PunkyThespian - Libra

Memories…
Let them be pages;
Pages in your album,
As you set forth
For sights unseen.
Absorbing…
Capturing each new,
Each quiet experience;
Engraving them in the mind.

Life…
A daring adventure,
Or nothing.
Draw on what can be taken
As it first appears;
Those that waste life
If only an hour of time…
Those that fail to fill
Each unforgiving minute
Can never…
Will never discover
Its true value.
As long as there are wants…
As long as there are needs
Or small desires;
There-in lies a reason for living.

Monotony…
The sameness of life,
Is a road,
Traveled by many,
And few…the bold,
They alone dream
To cross the abyss
That has trapped them;
Trapped us all,
On a side of discontent.
The journey…
Harsh and difficult,
But we will travel as far;
As long as possible
To learn…
To see, to hear,
And gain;
All that we hunger for…
To know.

Reason for writing:

    This is for every one who has ever felt that life is not worth liveing any more. Remeber... yesterday is only a dream, and tomorrow only a vision. But today, well-lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow, a vision of hope.
