When I am someone else I’ll find
My soul no different, save for the years
Tacked on from that lifetime; and newer fears
To replace those now past, and once unkind.
For as my raveled soul unwinds
Into strand after strand of endless string,
The world will wonder at my timeless being,
And at every past I’ve left behind.
I would gladly share my lives with you,
Though we are damned to part our ways
With a sureness that is likened to death.
And no promise that our souls will ever again share breath,
We must enjoy this time, and one another’s gaze...
For I will again be someone else, with a new lifetime to pursue.
