They say money can't buy you love and can only go so far Money bought you a house and a car Got a Rolex on your arm and sporting a nice 'fro Designer down from head to toe Closet filled with the flyest fashions from left to right Had the most hellified party last night A house full of people with their hands in the air Plenty of food and drink to spare Money brought all those things Plus the snake skin boots and platinum rings Got it going on But woke up alone Reached for the phone No need to fret - got a nice stash Can't get loving with your looks, you can get it with cash Got girls falling at your feet Gold diggers lined up and down the street No real love in your life - learned your lesson from that Love gave you a broken heart from a filthy greedy hood rat Gave you things you didn't want like heartache and pain Did things you didn't appreciate like drove you insane Caused you to do things you normally wouldn't do Gave you feelings that made you sick like the flu But you had money to take you away from it all Before love made you trip, slip and fall Money brought you temporary happiness and temporary pleasure Money brought you most of the things you treasure Love only seemed to offer you things, that in the end, you didn't like one bit Money may not be able to buy you love But love can't buy you shit!!!
Reason for writing:
This is my expression of heartbreak of a guy I know. He had it all but got his heart broken. He was never the same after that and this is his whole attitude. I know this poem goes both ways with love and money but what's the point in having all the money if you don't have anyone special to share it with?
