Stupid Girl

by Beth - Scorpio

How is it that you saw right into me
deep in, even where it's dark?
You grinned that evil smirk of yours
Your secret you would not impart.

Your eyes they searched below the skin
I felt naked in your gaze
Started a fight I could never win
Still standing in the haze

You mocked me and you teased me
taunted me I was your fool
Naive girl of not quite sixteen
drowning in your pool

The tempest raged inside you
I know you think I didn't see
But I felt the spray upon on my face
Felt the waves crashing around me

You played me for a fool
your mind games where addictive
I was tied and bound to you
My heart never was defective

You held me spellbound with your vioce
I was a captive to your brain
Imprisoned by my foolish desire
You were my gilded cage

All you had to do was snap your fingers
I was such a willing pawn
Never knowing , always wanting
inside I was torn

And when the penny finally dropped
Where you were, now just empty air
All you ever wanted was for me
To know how much you cared.....
