Arriving to the scene is painful, As we take in the sight, and turn our eyes away. We turn to the vacant, blackened skies as if; As if morning might arrive, To remove that which lies ahead. A thin, yellow haze surrounds my nightmare, Wrapped around this stretch of road To keep the onlookers out… Or rather, it seems, To keep a certain horror fenced in. The agony we feel now is meaningless, And I find relief in knowing, Though my suffering will last Long after this hollow night, Only the dead are without pain. The haze envelops us in turn now, My breath growing shallow as a lump, Lodges itself in my throat and I realize, As the twisted metal hits home… The shattered glass, sprinkling the quiet ground Like a fresh dusting of snow before winter strikes… I realize, That this is a place of dying, And I am alone.Birth sign: Libra
