For claiming to have
Such a sharp perception
And the handy ability
To walk right past
Someone's cordial bullshit
I really miss
The things
I conveniently forget
I don't want to deal with myself
That lives in your mind
today
Ignorance is bliss
And I'm as happy as I'll ever be
Straining my eyes
To see
and squeezing this turnip
Until it surrenders blood
Playing hide and seek
For praise
recognition
acceptance
But only finding
commendation
appreciation
welcome
Reason for writing:
I would like to consider myself highly perceptive when it comes to people, and to be able to figure them out...but it seems when their ideas or feelings have to do with me, I'm blind...probably because I don't want to take the chance it would be negative.
