Flower To a special woman, born of spring I want you to know the joy you bring . . . The joy you bring fills our hearts The love we share will never part Our paths have crossed in different ways But from our heart, you’ll never stray So to a special woman, born of spring How do you know what joy you bring??? Over the years and thru the tears Because of you, we’ve conquered our fears Through racial segregation and all the hard times Your words and wisdom gave us peace of mind Through degradation and heads bowed in shame You taught us to stand tall, and be proud of our name While working twice as hard and still being poor Your example kept us humble, and left us wanting more When enduring grief, pain, and strife You instilled in us, lessons of life To a special woman, born of spring Along with joy there is beauty you bring . . . You are a rooted flower Awaiting the Lord’s shower A delicate petal As stable as metal You have a sturdy stem More precious than a gem A heavenly glow Where only good qualities show From a difficult place you were able to sprout You grew strong, with the soil of the south The joy and beauty a flower brings The courage and strength, you’re all these things So to a special woman, born of spring We love you and the blessings you bring!!!
