My Spirit

by Mary Kay - Scorpio

My Spirit

As my body drifts to sleep late into the night
My spirit begins to emerge anxious to take flight
Finally her time has come to soar into the dark
With memories of love and loss she travels to her mark
Her aim is just to watch you sleep as I so often did
You will not know her presence from you my spirit always hid
When she flowed into your room and found you lying still
She saw your eyes were opened and knew you felt the chill
You looked around the room for me you thought it was in vain
But you don't know the joy she felt to hear you call my name
