Comets

by zara - Aries

passion always let me down,
when words began to fail,
comets like a smoky draught,
that fled without a tail,
stars collided, heavens showered,
planets spun around,
buds that opened, never flowered,
and died without a sound.
I found entire galaxies,
within a single bloom,
but words of mine, that I desired,
were like threads upon a loom,
that human hands had never touched,
and so they lay to waste,
and all around, desire played,
to give me but a taste.
Love had fled, before begun,
and true romance had stilled,
the heart that once had beat so warm,
was suddenly so chilled.
And all around my lonliness,
emotions came to tear,
and all the things I'd come to trust,
conspired to leave me there.
