When two people choose to marry It's the start of a long, hard road, That will have its ups & downs And will carry a heavy load. The support of the friends & family That are joined together here Will forever be appreciated And will always be held dear. (Bride) & (Groom) are perfect together- They add meaning to heart & soul; Each one is but a lonesome half, But together, a happy whole. They wanted to say thanks Before they're on their way To everyone they love & cherish On this, their wedding day. -Brandie White Partin-
Reason for writing:
When my best friend, Jena, decided to get married, she asked me if I would write a poem for her wedding. I had written an original poem for my own wedding, which my sister read before I walked down the aisle, and that is why Jena asked me to write her one. It only took me maybe a couple of hours and I called her up and read her what I had written. She cried and said it was pefect. With that, the day before the wedding, I had this poem printed on a card and gave it to her and her husband-to-be. She passed it around so everyone at the rehearsal could read it, and then the day of the wedding, she read it over and over whie she was getting ready. That made me feel so good. It was just my small token to her wedding day, but it meant a lot to her. Now this same poem is getting ready to be published in a compilation of poems and stories this summer. So thanks to her asking me to do her a small favor, I now have my name copyrighted on one of my original works that will soon appear in print.
