digging up painful graves

by c h an e l - Virgo

My distant forgotten relative
Invited herself into my world
I thought she’d only stay for a cup-a-tea
A pleasant final evening visit
And I’d shut my door without resentment
Never knew she traveled so heavily
Digging from the graves fragments of the past
Exploring the depths of a dark well
Only to find her self pushed down the tunnel
By a deteriorating translucent figure
I told her to keep the evil dwellings at bay
But she scraped the bowl clean of all its contents
Left me to rinse her hands clean of the defilement
She dug out on purpose…
I never asked to coddle fragility
When I desperately needed a tender hand
To clear the fog around my disposition
And wipe the dew collecting around my eyes
Before they splattered onto the land
Exiting the world as another tear shed
Without an indifference
