The Monster Inside

by Nicole M. - Gemini

It's ugly
  nothing more to say
    it's ugly
and it doesn't ask why
  instead
it's proud of what it is
the inhibitions it's eaten
there's a monster inside
  that's shackled
by my smile
   and respects my wishes

it's ugly
   and it's pacing
just waiting
    for the ok
hoping today I say
I'm not dealing with you today
Here's your opportunity

it's ugly
   much uglier than you
although
  that's hard to fathom

you thought
  you caught a glimpse
of it
through a window
  my dear
that was just a mirror

not even
your imagination
   holds a monster
like this

what? you snicker
and believe
  you've got a taste
but that was just me
   a fraction
of the possibilty
    of the ugliness inside

keep that in mind
