Slivers of moonlight
grace your bedroom
some fall upon our naked bodies
while you trace my powder body
eventhough this room
is worth more than the exposed woman in it
I never feel unworthy
but I do forget to breathe
so I have to exaggerate
when I inhale
I love that smile
that creeps across that face
with the rise of my chest
nothing between us
but the intoxicating night
and our sweat
I've been this naked before
this you know
but never so vulnerable
all of me bare
all of me shakes
as your aesthetic eyes memorize me
then I close mine
not pretending I'm somewhere else
alone
surpassing perfection
the scent
of the cool night
after the rain
floats into the background
taking backseat
to you
the feel
of the cotton sheets
on my legs
is tuned out
by your swollen lips
grazing my flushed skin
the blood rushing
is forgotten
because
of the pumping
