Silently I listened to the tickling of the ivories They were caressed so smoothly, so tighly, so lively. Watching him I dreamed as if he waited for me So I glanced back out over the sea. The wind took my hair and glided over my side The ocean smelled sweet as sharp as wine. I heard her walk outside my door As if she hated that silent cure. He held her close in the corner of my eye And the ivories fell silent once again to die. Love was so strong between these two beings They danced and kissed and killed my feelings. So again I watched outside my window Waiting for the stars to save my weeping willow. I blew kisses into the wind And I heard them leave silently again. It was then I went out and touched those keys Of the sweet and tenderly loved yet lonely ivories.
Reason for writing:
They say that the piano mends the heart. Personally its where I take out all my anger, but this poem describes a night of loneliness of how in one room there's love and in the next imagination.
