My Time Is Now

by k9123 - Aries

''My Time Is Now''

Glancing out to the lakes high above where I can see the lonely doves

My wish is to see them all befor the night falls

The weather looks cold and damp and the brown leaves crumble below me

The wind flows through me as if I were dead because I am dead inside

As the nights grow long and cold I am walking these streets while everybody else is asleep;all I have to where is a black trench coat and a black hat to match

The streets are lonely and quite and then the fog sets in

The streets are made of stone and they look wet at night as the fog moves through;there are a few lights to be seen, but you can always can count on the moon to cast it's moon light on you

My hands are cold and weak as I grow colder and hungry

People walk by me as if I were nothing and sometimes even spit on me

There is no place to sleep that is warm and safe and always in fear for your life

Life is hard when you are forgotten and no one wants to listen to an old wise man

When I hear the pretty songs that the birds sing I know I am still alive

When dawn breaks and the souds of the street cars roam and the people laughing and eating they look at me and walk away

As I lean againts a cold stone wall and drink a hot cup of coffie and people stairing at me,I start to think about the days I was able to work and play with my children and love my wife, and also stairing at the homeless

Reason for writing:

My reason for this poem is,the homeless are people to
they are not animals, everybody has a reason for everything
in life, some are good and some are bad and some even choose to be the way they are. You never know it could be your best friend,a family member or a lost love.
