In the corner An angel crying Remembering how She started dieing. She fell from heaven And on earth was captured She gave up all hope of the rapture She was confined in the prison To see no one No matter what the season Little by little she began to molt Her glowing light began to fade And her captors knew she was hurt They let her out But just for one day They tied an invisible string to her So she couldn’t get away She ventured to the meadows Where the skies were clear No walls to close in around her And nothing there to fear She traveled far to get away To find someway for her captors to pay She found to city It was dirty, ugly and pain was everywhere She thought it was beautiful Because she had never been anywhere The people bumped her around People cursed at her Calling her a freak She wanted to talk to someone She wanted to see someone she could meet Then she saw him He was walking out of a bar He looked as if he had grown in the city She thought hey it’s worthwhile He ignored her and pushed her out of the way She tripped and fell And when she looked up there was a shadow blocking her was It was a man He was dressed in black His face looked depressed and sad As if something had been taken away from him He looked at her and smiled Reaching out his hands to help her up She thought to herself that He didn’t care to notice her white gown And her enormous wings And her halo that stayed right above her head He didn’t ask her anything Just if she needed help up They started walking He asked if she wanted a cappuccino from the coffee shop They went She asked questions and he told her all about the city How the life here wasn’t that grand And the dirty work isn’t that pretty He told her about love and hate Greed and pain He asked nothing when she cried It was getting late And she could feel the string being pulled inside She said goodbye and kissed him Then she realized he was blind As she walked away She stopped in an alley Where she ripped her gown to shreds Exposing her white innocent body She tore at her wings Ripping them off She staggered up Feeling the warm blood run down her back She fell in the city slime She didn’t want to leave the alley This was her home now Her place The string tugged at her She could hear in the distance Her captors were calling But she never wanted to go back She was known to everything now She sat there in the corner Of the alley DieingBirth sign: Libra
