Lovers at night

by Twan - Aries

the night crept over the city
two lovers made plans to meet
dusk drew the day to a close
at the corner of broadway and addison streets
other men looked askance, older men just looked old
the world had left the deep freezing cold
the streets were far from empty, the people ran home
the festivities slated to begin
men feeling soft, men feeling high
men feeling eaten from within
as the seconds turned into minutes and the minutes into an hour the lovers felt this, it began
double figure hours slid by
they didnt do all that they can

those that were left began to feel forlorn
so they all began to fight
for the attentions of these that really weren't deserving
chicago's blackness and hormonal intent
male gay angels decended to the avenue
where from were they sent
and then i arrived
immediately i had the interest in the fading light
someone i know wanted me to be
the lover of the night
and so i look away
waiting for a shark
to take attention away from me
so i can slip into the dark
but a boy stopped me and caught my eye
for he was fem and slight
so he drew me away from this road
so i could be his lover of the night
the passage of time the lying wind
told more than it should
and what of it can i make??
not a lot, i could.
and as day began to slip in
men had found their love
as i walked away i held up
one black glove
to signify...
