Your Words Cut Me

by Elora Danning - Taurus

Your words are like a knife,
cutting me deeply,
pretty cliche, I know,
but true, so very true,
all I did was agree with some people,
make a few jokes,
gushed over a few pictures,
and there you come,
calling me a stalker,
obsessive, someone's worse nightmare,
ugly, hateful words.

You wielded your blade,
like a man on a mission,
determined to scar,
destined to destroy,
I laid my hands over my heart,
in a vain attempt to protect,
but your words got through,
and the bleeding began.

I did nothing wrong,
never hurt him,
never touched him,
only adored from afar,
that is no crime,
yet you have begun the execution ritual,
I don't deserve this,
nor want it.

Others ignore your words of harm,
they laugh and scorn at what you are saying,
but my skin is not that thick,
congratulations,
you got to me.

Please stop trying to kill my soul,
don't take what you read so seriously,
it's all in good fun,
no malice or bad intentions are afoot here,
it is our way of admiring,
a truly good man.
