LOST SPARK

by markwells - Scorpio

LOST SPARK

End of a dream my eyes have lost there spark,
Veins run fiery with injected demons in the dark.
Hygiene lacking and my clothes are torn,
If only I could turn back time to when I was born.
My girls are gone, my wife abroad far away,
Drink and drugs help me pass through the day.
My credit limit in the red, it has been for so long,
Bills pile up on the mat all will has gone.
Lungs cry out to stop the endless drink,
But that’s just the tonic when I’m tittering on the brink.
As light turns too dark my body can’t sleep,
My heart pumps slowly as the shadows begin to creep.
