The Storm

by Terrence Roe - Virgo

Sodden Skies Tore Overhead...
And Roiled Black as Night...
A Ghostly Green Horizon Trembled...
In the Wrath of Irene`s Might...
Stood two of us...Upon a Shore
Waist high... In Seaswept Foam...
Eleven Hundred Storm Tossed Miles...
From a Place that We`d called Home...
This Journey that had taken us...
To This Place ... This Very Edge...
Of Creation.....Or Damnation...
To Embrace ... High Winds Upon a Ledge...
The Howling Wind had Shredded Palms...
Sweet Magnolias....Spanish Moss...
This Brutal Wind Swept Us Away...
But............Only one was lost...
The Wind ... Had Blown in Gales ... In Squalls...
From off a Raging Sea.....The Storms Great Eye...
Stood off the Coast, and called My Name...
Called Unto ME...
My Storm stood right beside me...
She Wailed ....Fierce and Strong...
I seek of Her......Remembrance...
I live ... Within This Stormy Song...
This Hurricane Lives Forever On...
With both of Us Entwined...
A Hurricane They Called Irene...
And My Loves Storm...Forever Mine..............
