On My Own

by Vincent DONNAHUE III - Cancer

Walking on my own
For the very first time,
Trying not to fall
In the ambis where I won't survive.

Small steps bring me forward,
Slowly, to my goal;
Bigger steps would take me down-
In teh bottomless hole.

I am walking on a string
With a choice of two paths,
Down I could end in a blink,
And to reach goals takes time.
