Fighting A One Man War

by orange_4_m - Sagittarius

When did it become this way?
This uncomfortable weight within?
My brain is fighting a one man war,
Without a way to win.

My fingers are its soldiers,
Eager with their weapons, to fight.
They plunge their swords into my wrists,
Until there is no skin in sight.

Then they march off, without a care,
And leave their damage fresh.
A reminder of the wars and battles,
That my mind fights with itself.
