WALLS OF COLD

by markwells - Scorpio

WALLS OF COLD

Shadows walk within the gloom,
Indecent light flickers in the room.
Granular stone not fresh as before,
Meandering we move through the door.
Into halls and passages bare,
Up winding, flaking moss ridden stair.
To a chamber where once a fire did burn,
When a time we were trapped nowhere to turn.
Fumes with tongue take a fatal hold,
Memories now temporize in walls of cold.
