subject(ion)

by Matthias L. - Capricorn

maybe too numerous
are those impressions i get
maybe the uncountable emotions
stirred up the silent questions
beneath artificial light

leaving everything
to confusion undealt with
intermingling with anger
uncontrolled fear

i can't even grasp
terminal consequences
still in the calm wind
i place card onto card
erecting a fragile memory
against the storms of tomorrow

hidden premonitions
clouds inside, still invisible
painting my veins with snow
only colorless
only colder

caught between two worlds
i wish to be somewhere else
but aim and path remain unseen

sighs converge to a constant stream
cards pile up to another deck
and the words i can't speak
are drowned in voiceless darkness

washed away,
one unheard yearning
finds a hiding spot inside
all that remains
is silence
