The fake gold locket she wears

by Chritty - Aries

Painted eyebrows
strong scented perfume
the kind old ladies wear
A memory she stored
in a fake gold locket
mismatched socks
doctor scholls shoes
with the padded feet
a flannel skirt
matching blouse
grey hair that has been over dyed
yellowed teeth
that resembles corn kernels
she was flattered when he asked her
to marry him thrirty years ago
blonde hair
green eyes
strong perfume
the kind that hypnotizes
a man in love
a memory she kept stored
in the fake gold locket she wore
fishnet stockings
pink rouge
painted her face
before he got home
dinner on the table
the kids were asleep
just the two of them
he would hold her tight
kiss her lips
make love to her
and then go to work
the next day
they lived their happy lives
now thirty years later
kids grown and moved away
he's gone
she is all alone
left with her painted eyebrows
strong perfume
the kind that old ladies wear
and all the memories she keeps stored
in that fake gold locket she wears
