Unworthy of an Angel

All those years
Of God and church
Never quenched
My eternal search

All those years
Of pain and sin
Never filled
The hole within

Every year that
Slowly creeps by
And sadness reigns--
More tears I cry

Has lead me to
A question why---
Unworthy of
An angel am I?

Reason for writing:

    Have never really thought of the idea of, "angels"....And unless I just haven't been looking hard enough, I don't have any looking after me...like some others say they do.
