Untitled (The Death of a Battered Woman)

by Ms. TKay - Cancer

He pissed down her back
Convinced her it was rain
Although she could smell the stinch
She accepted it anyway

He gave her dirt
Convinced her it was candy
Although she could feel the grime
She accepted it anyway

He gave her shit
Convinced her it was sugar
Although there was nothing sweet about it
She accepted it anyway

He gave her nothing but shade (shady m.f.!)
Convinced her that there was no sun
Although she could see the rays with both eyes
She accepted it anyway

He gave her a black eye
Convinced it her it was love
Although she could only see hate in the mirror
She accepted it anyway

He gave her multiple stab wounds
A punctured lung
A snagger-toothed smile
She couldn't stay away

He sent her on a trip to the hospital in the ambulance
Blood pouring from her head
Barely enough oxygen left in her lungs to breath
She went back to him anyway

Convinced that it was all in the name of love....
And that love conquers all...

He gave her death
And convinced himself he was right
He saw a red dot on his shirt over his heart
Infrared light
