The Animal Tamer

by Mystyblu - Taurus

In the shadows of the breaking morning light,
standing on the plains,
I, known as the Animal Tamer,
with my snow white tiger on the right side,
blacker than ebony jaguar on the other,
lift arms to the heavens,
begin to sing the sweet song of calling,
time for my falcon to fly home,
in the beginning all one can see,
is dark lines against the sky,
but as she swoops closer and takes shape,
awing all who watch with her long wingspan,
my dear friend accurately lands on my arm wrapped in leather,
taking care not to dig the claws in too deep,
so as not to hurt,
eagerly feasting on the open bag of nuts and berries,
then off she goes,
ready for another's day of protecting,
those unfortunate animals who through the arrogance of man,
have diminished in numbers,
and have become our endangered species,
whole reason for being,
with my special gift of communicating with animals,
has led me down a dark path,
poachers are still everywhere,
too many for me to catch,
ever viligante shall I be,
the future of mankind depends on it.
