shattered glass

by FireFly - Libra

I was bouncing into each day-
Waiting for the sweetest thing-
To ease this missing love-
I’ve walked in circles with two black eyes-
Sleep never a friend of mine-
Up above, the gray clouds in the night-
My mood hovering above me-

Each day seems slower then the next-
And I don’t know why-
A man searches for any visible star-
To ease his restless love-
But the very thought of her-
Is soul speak to my ears-

And I stand at the intersection-
Ready to explode-
Into brilliant colors-
Colors with no weight and no form-
Lifted and whisked away by the San Francisco wind-
Into my lovers blood stream-
Drugged up-
Feeling the capsized world-
With its shattered glass-
On our bare feet-

We asked for forgiveness-
But all we get is the blame-

For loving each other-
