NERVOUS EYES Ironical glance of nervous eyes, Gates open with a creek. Gargoyles leered up high, Knees jelly and week. Churchyard dark and still, Headstones scattered about. Only broken by owls shrill, And a distant child’s shout. Stillness gave him a pang, Veil of mist formed and cloaked. Dry mouth a copper tang, Rain clouds emptied and soaked. While he stood shapes vacated graves, Destined to roam as undead slaves. Gargoyles seemed to break free and fly, I tried to run I had to try. Faces followed eyes drew nearer, Was this the end it couldn’t be clearer? Stumbling into a vacated grave, I start to sink like a hammered stave. Blackness swallowed I hear a thud, Lid is closed replacing mud. Air grows thinner my mind tires, Until my body floats to spectral spires.Birth sign: Scorpio
