REPTILIAN SMILE

REPTILIAN SMILE

‘Why are you here’ she said with a slow reptilian smile?
‘We need to talk please let’s sit down.’
‘I just look at you and my mouth fills with bile’,
‘Just clear off go back out on the town.’
She started trembling and her face was white.
‘I want to stay with you’ I murmured.
‘After all you’ve done’ She said producing a light,
The cat lay content on the armchair and peered.
‘Your illogical.’
‘No I’m not.’
‘Your destined for a fall,’
‘Do you still smoke pot’?
‘I haven’t dabbled in that or weed.’
‘Are you sure about that’ She asked?
‘You were always a bad seed.’
‘I promise’ I said behind a false mask.
She had mellowed and softened towards me at last.
Her tone was hard and clear,
‘I will forgive your past.’
I do love you’ she said with a crystal tear.
‘I’m sorry I have treated you bad,
‘All I want is your happiness again.’
‘I’ve been driving myself mad,’
With worry and ebbing pain.’
There was a pause…
I closed the open door.
Her lips warm and wet,
Gentle purrs from her sleeping pet.
