Flexing your muscles

by Beth - Scorpio

Some stole in quietly
Like thieves
others with muffled vioces, whispers and stiffled giggles
like forbidden lovers on a moonless night
Some came in the back way
Looking over their shoulders
afraid of what they may be missing
But you

Oh
you rang the door bell
then pounded and banged when I didn't answer
Until finally
you kicked the damn door in
stomping over the shattered remains
You exerted your force
dug in your heels and refused to budge

I tried to make you go
I begged
I ridiculed
I punched and I kicked
I screamed and yelled
I struggled and fought like a wounded tigeress protecting her cubs
But still you wouldn't go

You wore me down
you gloated
and with an "I-Told-you-so" face
you triumphantly showed me
The very thing you had conquered and claimed for yourself

My heart......
