the twilight I knew

by Matthias L. - Capricorn

ode to joy, lit me up
every night beyond that corner
gotterfunken - the artist -
is humming his song again
each letter an odyssey to his dream
thrown away
(mouth of flame)

spit out in splitseconds
their contorted faces too slow
to crash even the smallest
of his prophecies
not even a lifeline to others
and still in the dark
a signal. do not stop running.
(swallow me)

then already. more than a shadow
his shape kept him alive then
never failing to surprise you
i'm sure he still does
(a sign received)

still now, one word (one whisper)
neither answer nor question
brighter than tomorrow
a wormhole. try to convince me
you can pass on naked feet.
(i never heard you go away)

so be it. those now ghost,
those who wander. carry on,
assemble. fall apart.
you know (nothing)
he's never failed to catch you
make use of false belief

the never-god I was, the thief
returns only that favour to you
