Christmas Blues

by Jack Daniels - Virgo

Snow blankets the ground
Mist hangs lightly in the air
A full moon beams
Frozen puddles gleam

Tinsel glitters and rustles
Trees stand regal and tall
Gifts from lover to lover
Tokens of appreciation from one another

Children laugh and play
Candles burn softly
But in the dark
I feel I'm falling apart

Everyone is so happy
I do everything I can to smile
And the sadness recedes again
but only for a little while

Cos I've got Christmas blues
And I don't know what to do
I try to act happy and forget
but in the end it falls through

I've not been the same
Since I lost you
Now I just sit alone
With Christmas blues

Aromas of mince pies
And chocolate permeate
I can feel tears form
Holly's just the calm before the storm

Sitting alone as snow falls
Distant memories of how we used
To walk through the white smiling
Come into my mind

Forgotten arguments glossed over
Pretending everything will be ok
Deluded by seasons greeting's
Leaving the past behind
After all it’s Christmas time

Smile and everything will be ok
Laugh act like you're having fun
And it just may

Snow blankets the ground
Mist hangs lightly in the air
A full moon beams
Frozen puddles gleam

Everyone is so happy
I do everything I can to smile
And the sadness recedes again
but only for a little while

Cos I've got Christmas blues
And I don't know what to do
I try to act happy and forget
but in the end it falls through

I've not been the same
Since I lost you
Now I just sit alone
With Christmas blues

Sat alone another day without you
Staring out of the window into the snow
Marveling at such a magnificent scene
Lost and lonely with Christmas blues

Christmas blues...
I don't know what to do...
With Christmas blues...
Christmas blues...

Reason for writing:

christmas I suppose? lol funny to be back round here after so long away...:)
