and so i knew it was there...
buried underneath
my clear vinyl bikini.
only as far
as someone could go.
scratching at the surface,
my knuckles are raw my dear.
having dug through the
depths of a mystery notebook
pages strewn through
the attic of my
sad childhood home
this is me love,
having been drug out
of the murky depths
of sweet serene complacency
and thrown into
your open arms
to be stretched kicking
and screaming
to the point of
no return
i am here now
ready
no longer afraid
to see you
no more
cringing when
the lights come on
rolling these words like laughter
tasting them on my tongue
sweet words you gave me
like commitment...
peace...
love...
and to hell with it, why not?
