It was the gifts that made the difference, It was the gifts what done the trick. If you don't believe a word I say, Then just ask Mr. Dick.
Reason for writing:
I received some unsolicited gifts from an anonymous benefactor who did not want to take any credit for his kindness. And that kindness restored my faith in human nature and turned my life around. Now I'm a completely different person. There was no one gift that made the difference, it was the discerning combination, sequence and timing of the gifts that did the trick. I subsequently discovered that my friend Mr. Dick had also received unsolicited gifts from the same benefactor Mr. Dick has a sore throat at the moment and cannot speak for himself, so we thought that we'd write a poem together. Now I'm training as a legislator and am an opera singer in my spare time. As we say in the operatic profession, 'It ain't over until the fat lady croaks'.
