A Morning of Delicacy and Drugs

by Andrew Northway - Gemini

The morning dew
seems to burden the blades of grass.
The morning dew on the blades of grass.
It weighs them down,
yet they seem to enjoy it.
This is the very effect of hard drugs.

The graceful fingertips of the trees
break the sunlight
into delicate shafts of light.
I only want to influence
and exist to be true.

Reason for writing:

This site was down for the longest time, or at least on my computer it was, so i quit writing poetry for a couple years because i had nobody to write for. This was the first poem i've written since then, and i feel it's one of my best. It basically describes observations of life through nature, like crackheads and how people tend to be superficial and fake. But man, i looked back at all the comments and how i replied to some people, MAN what was i thinking? i musta thought i was black or something, hahah.
After years of not writing poetry, and i read some of my old stuff on this site, shit i wrote about some crazy shit, that scared me now, hahah. anyways, please comment!
