some girls

by e. h. - Libra

i was bent over
and puking off
the side of the
front porch
when she arrived

my living room
having been transformed
into a crime scene

blood in the kitchen
splattered up
onto the counters
and walls

trailing out
onto the couch
down the hallway
to the bath

and down the
other hallway
down the driveway
and out onto
the street

a glittering
sparkling spray
that under
my own adrenaline calm

looked almost beautiful
in a you never get to see
this kind of way

it was insane
and there was no way
to explain

besides my broken
phone call earlier
for her to come...
come now
swords

and blood

and crying

and she came
just like that
didn't even blink
or gasp

or vomit

just pulled two pairs
of latex gloves
out of her purse
in her practical
this is part of life
way

and knelt on
the floor with me
helping to erase
the stains
