the first step
to any challenge
is to close your
eyes
exhale and blow
past all interior
barriers erected
in moments less
difficult than
this
you taught me that
stepping into
the harness for
the first time
your hands fastening
the buckles and belts
trust
love
belief
rising up
to meet me
as i roared
to the ground
all previous
hurts and
torments
forgotten
lost
in bliss and
peace
i have only one fear i've never been
able to cut loose

am afraid
of going
up
every free fall
every jump
every dive
rewards
for facing the
the agony of ascension

same
as
when
