Independence

by Saloma8 - Aquarius

Double shift
And wired again
Awake while
Others sleep

A mixture of
Some milk and gin
Dry eyes
I cannot weep

I think of things
From years gone by
And scream
Inside my head

Then have another
Sip of gin
My mind says
Go to bed!!

It wasn't supposed
To be this way
My work and
Sacrifice

A husband and a
Child are lost
In search
Of paradise

Independence
What a thrill!
Free to laugh
When ever I feel!

Free to this
And free to that
Where's my milk
My gin, my cat?
