Tears of a wretched soul

by Will Read - Gemini

Excreted liquid smears your sight.
A trickling, dripping saline flight,
From eyes that cannot hide the pain.
Here water-falls, of acid rain.

Doth split the pavements of the street,
And collect in puddles at your feet.

Then, burdened from your sorry frown,
The tears run deep enough to drown.

And as you flounder in your sea,
The wretched soul that you may be.

Will slowly, softly die. Abate.
Only salt is left to contemplate.

So, shed those tears and cry some more.
Cascading down upon the floor.

For this is what life led you to,
A pool of tears reflecting… you.
